I can feel it in my bones (or maybe it was the portrait session at the cherry blossoms this weekend), but SPRING is coming! The weather is getting warmer and I don’t know about you, but I am already on the lookout for things to do around the Greater Augusta area! I started to do some research and found a bunch of FABULOUS places to visit and things to do this Spring! Here are my Top Ten hot spots that I can’t wait to check out. Lots of great things to do — rain or shine!
1- Local Parks: Riverview Park, Odell Weeks and the Park at Evan Town Center.
2- Take a bike ride or walk on the Greenway in North Augusta or at Savannah Rapids Pavilion.
3-March 17th begins the Augusta Market in downtown and it is every Saturday through the Fall from 8am-2pm off Reynolds street. It has local vendors that sell farm fresh food, to local sweets and honey, to craft booths, shaved iced… fun stuff!
4- March 17th- At 11am, Diamond Lakes Library has their Family Lego day- join the fun!
5- Plant a garden with your children- Click the link for a great article from Gardening Know How to get you you started on a successful garden with your kids.
6- Spring crafts- Here are wonderful ideas from Pinterest ( you know our favorite place to go for EVERYTHING!!) on some fun Spring Crafts.
7- Paint a piece of pottery for a fun trip on a Saturday at Artsy Me! My kids love going here! They have two locations now. Here is a link to their website for more information on hours.
8- Enjoy some physical activity with Rock Climbing! We have an indoor rock climbing facility right here in Augusta! A fun activity for the whole family with daily passes! Here is the link to find out more!
9- Want to take a nature hike? Head over to Phinizy Swamp for a day of fun and observe some wildlife and enjoy the great outdoors- here is the link for hours and directions.
10- For some indoor fun to sure to please the whole family, check out Stars and Strikes! They feature bowling, laser tag, arcade, bumper cars and full American Style Restaurant or head to Airstrike, the popular indoor trampoline park that kids of all ages LOVE!!
