So, do you have a bucket list? You know those – things I would like to do before I take my final breath – lists? I started one a few years ago and it has included a variety of things personally and professionally. I try to do at least one of the items each year, but last year, I was able to check off one that took me quite a far way from Augusta, GA…. to New York City! By a wonderful twist of fate, my cousin and his wife were pregnant and I was invited to go to the baby shower over Thanksgiving weekend in New Jersey (which is right next to NYC!!)!! A few of my cousins live there and I said, “How about we plan a day in NYC while we are there?” You see, going to New York City wasn’t the Bucket List item – visiting New York City *during the Christmas season* was the bucket list item. It was a bit of cricket sounds when I have spoken to my husband about planning a trip!
So, the next thing I knew… there we were… driving into the Big Apple with tickets in our hands to see the Rockettes, reservations at the Rock Center Cafe for lunch and a plan to walk around and visit FAO Schwartz and The American Girl Doll store. The Rockefeller Center tree was up, but hadn’t been lit yet and the area had just gotten snow (I mean, do I have connections… or what?)!! I still can’t believe that I checked this one off my bucket list. While we were there, though, my cousin and I discussed another visit to go see Jimmy Fallon, Kelly and Michael and Rachel Ray…. Check off one item and a few more… the beauty of a bucket list! What is on your bucket list and what do you plan to do this year?
