Can summer just slow down?  It’s already July 4th weekend and while it’s one of my favorites, I can’t believe summer is going so quickly!  Some of my favorite sessions also happen this time of year and I adore a good patriotic newborn custom set design.  If you haven’t booked your newborn session, there is a description of everything included here.   Please don’t forget to book these sessions early so we have plenty of time to design your custom set design!  So if this weekend snuck on you, just like your third trimester, I have the easiest and cutest dessert to share with you.  I’m also going to share some festive home decor that can last all summer long!

Let’s talk dessert first. This is a dessert that will please all family and friends and you can whip it together in minutes, literally.

Ingredients

ice cream sandwiches
red, white and blue sprinkles

Step 1. Pick up ice cream sandwiches. From wherever you shop!

Step 2. Pick up red, white and blue sprinkles. Pour them in a shallow bowl.

Step 3. Place ice cream sandwiches (on all sides) into sprinkles so they stick to the ice cream.

Step 4. Enjoy!

These are so easy it felt kind of silly to type out these steps. But I promise these are crowd pleasers and the sprinkles add a little crunch and lots of festive fun! ❤️

Switching gears, I absolutely love decorating my home for the season and holidays. Summer is no different and it’s great that I can keep this decor up from Memorial Day to Labor Day to celebrate all the holidays summer brings us.

I would classify my decor style as simple, classic and clean. As many of you know, we built our dream home on a lake and I embrace the lake life. I don’t like lots of clutter, but think some well placed flags, pin wheels and a great door mat gives some classic charm to a home  and you can find all of these items at Hobby Lobby. And for all you Target lovers (who isn’t?), this pinwheel is a new addition this year. So go grab it here! And I hope you and your family have a fun and safe 4th of July celebration.
