Happy (almost) St. Patrick’s Day! I wanted to get this blog post up a few days early because this is such a cute and easy (like, really easy) way to treat your kids on St. Patrick’s Day. And because this one is so simple, you might want to make this an annual tradition. Now, let’s get into what you’ll need.
Lucky Charms
milk
green food coloring
jar of white frosting (or be fancy and make your own)
glass cups
Here’s what you’re going to do. First, take the green food coloring and add it to the milk. Once the milk is green, you’re going to grab your glass cups. I prefer glass because it lets the green milk show through. Open the frosting and place your cups upside down into the tub. You might have to swirl the cup around slowly until the top is covered with the frosting.
Now, we need those delicious Lucky Charms. Pour some of the cereal into a bowl and place the frosted glass cup upside down into the bowl of Lucky Charms. Lift the glass cup out slowly and those Lucky Charms should be covering most of the frosting. I added a few where they didn’t stick and it’s seriously one of the cutest things ever!
Carefully pour the green milk into your glass, add a straw and you’ll be crowned the best parent ever! Don’t worry if a few of those charms fall into the milk, they’re magically delicious afterall. This treat is a favorite of mine because it can be an anytime of the day snack. Pair it with a banana for breakfast or with some pretzels and apple slices for an after school treat. Or, it can be dessert for your St. Patrick’s Day dinner!
And we’ll end this one with one of my favorite Irish blessings. “May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.” Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
