Happy (almost) 4th of July! It’s a time where the burgers are on the grill, kids are splashing in the pool and the adults have a cold one in their hand, celebrating America’s birthday. You might even get a glimpse of those magical fireworks! And let’s not forget about all the sweet treats that come with the 4th of July. The more festive, the better. And I have a few simple recipes (if you can even call them that) that are both festive and tasty! 🇺🇸
The first is a yearly staple in our home. And it’s not even a recipe. This one is more, get the ingredients and lay them out in a festive way. So it’s super simple and quick! Here’s what you’ll need; blueberries, raspberries (you could even use cut up strawberries instead), and yogurt covered pretzels. Arrange your red, white and blue ingredients to look like the American flag and you’re good to go. This is an especially good one if you’re traveling. You can quickly set this one up once you arrive!
Another option that is fun from breakfast to dessert, is a festive yogurt parfait. Again, not really a recipe so you’re welcome 😉 that this takes almost no time at all. You’ll need; plain or vanilla yogurt (whatever brand is your favorite), strawberries or raspberries, blueberries and your favorite granola. Layer your parfait with blueberries, yogurt, granola, strawberries and finish off with more blueberries. This is a festive treat and bonus points if you have cute, vintage ice cream sundae cup to put it in.
I hope you have a wonderful time this holiday weekend celebrating with friends and family. And now I’ll leave you with one piece of advice; you always have the choice to enter that hot dog eating contest. But that doesn’t mean you should. 🌭
