Summer is a time for family adventures and laid back get togethers. And today’s post hits on both of these summer staples. I love having family and friends over to our home.  Sharing laughs, stories and memories, it fuels my soul. I also love a summer bucket list. So lets get some of my summer bucket list items crossed off together!

I have a recipe that is tried and true and I make almost every summer. It’s perfect for entertaining or enjoying with just your family.  It’s light, fruity and just plain delicious! It’s a summer trifle filled with all the yummy summer tastes and it’s quick and simple (two of my favorite things when it comes to baking 😉).

Ingredients:

strawberries (they’re in season so keep reading on where to grab the best ones!)

blueberries

cut up sponge cake (you can make your own or purchase one)

vanilla pudding

whipped heavy cream

Now to put it all together! The first layer is vanilla pudding, followed by whipped cream. Next is the cut up sponge cake and lastly is the strawberries and blueberries. Repeat the layers three times and top off with all the extra fruit.  It looks beautiful and tastes delicious!

And while we’re at it, why don’t you go grab some fresh strawberries for your trifle? After all, it is strawberry season. I remember when my kids were younger and tasted fresh strawberries for the first time they were blown away by how juicy they were compared to the store bought ones. And the best place to get strawberries locally is Gurosik’s Berry Plantation. And while I love going into the farm to pick them right from the vine, sadly, it looks like this year they have closed their u-pick field due to weather.  There is good news though because all of their farm stands are stocked with strawberries and other fruits and veggies! Check out their website for all the up to date information.

And if you’re entertaining with this trifle, don’t forget to stop by the Gurosik’s Farm Market. It’s full of fresh cut flowers, fruit bread and fritters, local honey and all the fresh produce you could want! Perfect one stop shop for all your entertaining needs.  And local too!

Happy Summer! ☀️
