Have you heard of this amazing, smile-making experience happening in our area? North Augusta Rocks is a great grass-roots effort to give back to others and spread sunshine! It is a really simple concept. The group started with a couple people who found rocks and painted them and then hid the rocks back and places you wouldn’t expect to see a painted rock. The whole point of the group is to spread joy! ( How cool is that?) (You can read and see more about the fun from the Channel 6 news!)
There is a Facebook group and all the founder asks is that when you find a rock, take a picture or tell them where you left a rock. If you find a rock, you may keep it, leave it or rehide the rocks you find. My children and I have found rocks in a variety of places and we have kept one for our rock garden and rehid them as well. My favorite “rock spotting” was along the Greenway. It was so fun to find!
So, get out there and find a rock or two! Let us know if you find any or if you have planted any, too. We love our town!
