I can’t believe how amazing life is sometimes, can you? I mean the real, true connection that happens which can only, truly be explained as God’s greater plan. Last Thursday, I received a call from a wonderful woman named Jennifer. She said that she had found me via Google and had a strange request. As a business owner, I respond to inquiries, requests and emails all the time. 99% of the time someone does not call their request a “strange” one, so I was intrigued a bit by Jennifer. Then she told me the story that made her call me.

Jennifer is a photographer from Jacksonville, FL. Her sister’s good friend, Nicole, had been pregnant and so excited to meet her sweet baby. But, a problem developed during childbirth. Nicole suffered an amniotic fluid embolism, a rare condition when amniotic fluid or fetal matter enters the maternal bloodstream. Normally this condition impacts the mother severely and babies usually do not live. By a miracle, sweet, strong Gadsden was born and is healthy and Nicole is getting stronger each day, but is still fighting for her life. Nicole and Gadsden were both flown to Georgia Regents Medical Center in Augusta, GA.

Jennifer’s “strange” request still gives me goosebumps. She asked me if I had a studio and is it available for her to use to take portraits of Gadsden, because some of the family who were staying locally were in a hotel and the lighting wasn’t very good for newborn portraits. I instantly opened my scheduling book and Jennifer and I found a spot that worked. She drove in from Jacksonville, Gadsden and his grandparents came over to my studio and the session was completed. Gadsden was the perfect newborn model. I was so happy to offer Jennifer usage of my props and blankets, too. When I was telling my assistant Terrie what was happening, she nearly fell out of her chair because her good friend was housing some of Gadsden’s family, too. I am amazed each day at how God works and His greater plan. Anyone else have the goosebumps?
